Radiohead - depressingly genius

So my love of Radiohead has grown a lot in the past few years. After each listen, you find different reasons for why they are one of the best bands around. Some of their music is as complex as it is genius. And talent-wise, they got the chops too..

So I offer some of the songs I enjoy the most... and some of the covers that have spawned from their music..

Starting with this crazy video for 'Just', which I never get tired of... The ending is kinda freaky..

Radiohead - Just

And then.. here is the Mark Ronson cover of 'Just' featuring the lead singer of Phantom Planet Alex Greenwald singing. This is an amazing cover. I love how Mark Ronson adds the horns and it just works with this song... I had to include the original Radiohead version, because you really appreciate it more once you know where it came from.

Then another one of my favorite Radiohead songs is "There There". Here's the live version I found...

Then here is the acoustic version, where Thom and Johnny show off there guitar chomps . Its kinda hypnotic if you just close your eyes and listen. The electric guitar part is really amazing( starts in the middle of the song). In the original version, the electric guitar sort goes into this spastic crazy solo, while here, he controls his sound as to not take over the melody. It looks like he's ready to go nuts with a big solo, but he never does hehe.

And lastly one of the newer ones "Pact Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box". Here is just the audio. There are live versions which don't sound nearly as good as the album version. Much more eletronic than older Radiohead, but the quality and production are top notch.

Ok, and the real reason I started this post, was cause I found this cover version of 'Sardines'. Its just a piano cover, but whoever this girl is, she takes it in a whole different direction. Gotta love finding new versions of old songs =).

Packt like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box cover

And thats my Radiohead post. I could talk a lot more about how amazing they are, but you should go find out for yourself.
